FASTag Must For Vehicles Entering Tirumala From August 15
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has decided to make FASTag compulsory for all vehicles heading to Tirumala from August 15.
TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has decided to make FASTag compulsory for all vehicles heading to Tirumala from August 15. The rule will be enforced at the Alipiri checkpoint, with the aim of speeding up security checks, easing traffic flow, and ensuring a smoother entry for pilgrims.
The move is expected to cut long waiting times, especially during peak seasons, by enabling faster clearance at the main entry point to Tirumala. Officials said the digital toll payment system would also help in tracking vehicle movement more efficiently, strengthening safety measures on the ghat roads.
Vehicles without FASTag will not be allowed to proceed beyond the checkpoint. For the convenience of devotees who arrive without one, TTD, in partnership with ICICI Bank, has set up an on-site issuance counter at Alipiri. Pilgrims can get the FASTag installed on their vehicles within a short time and then continue their journey to the temple town.
TTD has appealed to devotees to ensure their vehicles are equipped with FASTag before starting their trip, noting that this will help avoid delays and make the entry process smoother. The temple body stated that the initiative is part of its broader efforts to provide a more organised, transparent, and secure pilgrimage experience.
