Ex-minister Siddha Raghavarao Bribed Mining DDMS With Rs 2L To Submit Favourable Report

The FIR filed by CBI in connection with the mining department DDMS Sivasankar bribery case at Ongole in Prakasam district revealed that former minister Sidda Raghavarao's family gave Rs 2 lakh bribe to the mining officials on August 17.

Sidda Raghavarao brother's son Venkata Suresh Kumar was identified as A3. Private surveyor A. Subhashkar Reddy as A4, and Vasavi Granites manager Y. Surendra as A5. Some other government and private persons were identified as A6.
According to the CBI FIR, a worker of Vasavi Granites, owned by Sidda Raghavarao's family, died after a boulder in the quarry hit him. The CBI alleged that Raghavarao's family gave bribe to the mines deputy director seeking a favourable report to the quarry management in the incident.
The CBI filed case under the anti-corruption law under sections 7, 7A, and 8 and BNS Sections 61 (2).
While Sivasankar, Venkata Suresh and two others are in remand, Sidda Raghavarao's son Sidda Venkata Sudheer is absconding.
The CBI is investigating if there is involvement of others in the bribery case.
