KAKINADA: Former minister and East Godavari district YSRC president Chelluboyina Srinivasa Venu Gopalakrishna has alleged that police are portraying victims as accused and filing cases against those attacked. Venu Gopalakrishna, MLC Thota Trimurthulu and former minister Mudragada Padmanabham met ex-minister Ambati Rambabu at the Central Jail in Rajamahendravaram of East Godavari District on Tuesday during the Mulakat time. Later, Venu Gopalakrishna told media that attacks had been carried out on Ambati Rambabu and his house. However, police went on to file cases against Rambabu and sent to jail. No cases have been booked against those who attacked Rambabu and his assets. The former minister charged that a barbaric rule is prevailing in the state. He demanded that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu take responsibility for the “dark days’’ prevailing in the state. MLC Trimurthulu said Ambati Rambabu had questioned the state government about Tirupati laddu. But the government instead sent Rambabu to Jail. Mudragada Padmanabham said respect for the CM would have increased had Chandrababu admitted that his comments about Tirupati laddu had been mistaken.
