Education Wing Told to Appoint Teachers for Appasamudram School

NELLORE: District collector Himanshu Shukla has directed education department officials to appoint teachers for Classes 1 to 5 at Appasamudram primary school from July 12 to ensure uninterrupted learning for village children.

The direction was issued during his visit to Appasamudram village in Udayagiri mandal of SPSR Nellore district under the ‘Palle Vekshanam’ programme on Tuesday.

Reviewing local issues, the Collector assured action on long-pending concerns, including encroachments on an old village tank and electricity-related problems. He instructed APSPDCL officials to address power supply issues and shortage of linemen.

During the visit, he inspected MGNREGS works, sanitation initiatives, Anganwadi centre, medical camps and other village facilities, and interacted with residents. He also resolved grievances on the spot.

The collector directed officials to sanction a tricycle for a differently-abled person and take steps to provide land to a beneficiary.

At the gram sabha, he said the objective of ‘Palle Vekshanam’ was to identify and resolve village-level issues promptly. He also assured steps to improve road connectivity to nearby villages.

Officials from various departments participated in the programme, which concluded with the Collector felicitating meritorious students.
