ED Serves Notice To Ambati Rambabu In Liquor Scam
Rambabu has earlier been expected to appear before the ED on Friday: Reports
VIJAYAWADA: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has served a fresh notice to senior YSRC leader and former minister Ambati Rambabu, asking him to appear before it in Hyderabad on September 28 for inquiry in connection with the alleged irregularities in liquor transportation tenders.
Rambabu has earlier been expected to appear before the ED on Friday. But he informed the directorate that he will be unable to do so due to ill-health.
Earlier, the ED had posted a notice to the former minister on September 8, asking him to appear before it on September 11. Rambabu did not appear for the probe claiming he did not receive any notice.
The ED then re-sent the notice on September 18, summoning the former minister to appear before it on Friday, September 25. The directorate also sent the notice through WhatsApp and also informed him over phone. However, he informed the ED on Friday that he will be unable to be present due to ill-health.
The ED has sent him a fresh notice to appear before it at 10:30 am at its office in Hyderabad on Monday, September 28.
