ED Issues Notices to Two Accused in Viveka Murder Case
ED officials also questioned accused Sunil Yadav for nearly nine hours on Thursday and directed him to appear again on Friday
Kadapa:The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued notices to two accused in the murder case of former minister Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy as part of its probe into alleged financial transactions linked to the case.
The ED directed A1 Erra Gangireddy and A3 Umashankar Reddy to appear for questioning on September 27 and 28, respectively. The agency has already questioned approver Shaikh Dastagiri.
ED officials also questioned accused Sunil Yadav for nearly nine hours on Thursday and directed him to appear again on Friday. The agency is also understood to have obtained details of the bank accounts of Sunil Yadav and his wife.
The ED is focusing on the financial transactions following the CBI’s findings that an alleged deal was made to pay `40 crore as a supari for the murder of Vivekananda Reddy and that `1 crore was allegedly paid in advance to Shaikh Dastagiri, who later turned approver.
The agency is examining the money trail and suspected financial transactions linked to the alleged payment. Sources said the ED is also probing whether the funds involved in the case were routed through transactions amounting to money laundering.
