Drug Racket Busted Near AU Campus
Visakhapatnam police arrested three individuals in the case of drug smuggling racket near the NCC camp office at AU Engineering College.

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam police arrested three individuals in the case of drug smuggling racket near the NCC camp office at AU Engineering College. Police recovered 25 gm of the cocaine, cash valued at Rs 3.6 lakh, a vehicle, four mobile phones and a diary containing details about smuggling activities.
One of the arrested persons was identified as Chekuri Akshay Alias Munna, 34, a local resident from Seethamadhara. He was allegedly coordinating the drug transaction and working with a group of friends, including Raghu, Krishna Chaitanya and Gautam, to procure cocaine for consumption.
The second person arrested was Thomos Djimon, 30, a South African national residing in New Delhi, who was allegedly transporting the narcotics. He was found in possession of the cocaine when arrested.
The third person, Dr Khammella Sri Krishna Chaitanya Varma, 34, is a medical professional from Kurmannapalem, who had been arrested on Sunday during the investigation. Police found evidence linking him to the drug network and seized a mobile phone from him.
According to Inspector P. Pydiyya, the investigating officer, the police, acting on a tip-off regarding illegal transportation of cocaine, police raided a parked vehicle at the vacant area next to the NCC office on AU Engineering College Road in the early hours of July 5 at around 2:00 am.
The investigation uncovered an operation that involved coordination between local users and suppliers based in Delhi. The suspects had arranged to pay Rs 3,60,000 in cash to Thomas Djimon for 25 gm of cocaine, which was being supplied by an individual known as Prince from Delhi. A case was registered under Sections of NDPS Act at Three-Town police station. Two suspects remain at large, identified as Prince (also referred to as Omenefe) and Butchi, both reportedly operating from Delhi.
All three suspects have been presented before the IV Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) for judicial remand
