Dr G. Jagadeesh Given Additional Charge of SVIMS Director-cum-VC
Dr Kumar has been asked to hand over charge to him.
TIRUPATI: Dr G. Jagadeesh, director of the Balaji Institute of Surgery, Research and Rehabilitation for the Disabled (BIRRD) Trust Hospital, Tirupati, has been given full additional charge of the director cum vice-chancellor of Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS).
The appointment follows the completion of the three-year tenure of Dr R.V. Kumar who was relieved of the post on Monday afternoon, according to orders issued by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
Dr Jagadeesh will hold the additional charge until further orders or until a regular appointment is made to the post, whichever is earlier. Dr Kumar has been asked to hand over charge to him.
Dr Jagadeesh has been associated with BIRRD Trust Hospital for over two decades and played a key role in its development as an orthopaedic and rehabilitation centre. He has performed over 1.83 lakh surgeries and conducted medical camps in different parts of the country, providing free treatment to patients.
