Do You Know Difference Between DSC, APPSC? Lokesh Asks Jagan

Education Minister Nara Lokesh has hit back at former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy over his allegations on the teacher recruitment process, asking whether Reddy even knew the difference between the District Selection Committee (DSC) and the state Public Service Commission.

Responding to a YSRC video posted on X, Lokesh said it was painful to see Jagan Reddy “spewing venom” over the DSC process. Even court reprimands had failed to bring about any change in the former CM’s attitudes, he said and warned that the government would not tolerate any attempt to threaten or pressurise teachers.

Lokesh said he had witnessed the hardships of unemployed youth during his Yuva Galam padayatra and reiterated the government's commitment to filling 3,000 DSC posts every year. Around 30,000 teachers would be recruited over five years, he said.

The YSRC government, he alleged, had filled “zero” teacher posts during its five-year rule, while the present government made recruitment through DSC, through his first signature as education minister, and filled 16,000 teacher posts.

The minister said nearly 300 cases have been filed to stall the DSC process, but courts did not find any fault with the government in any of them. Officials had furnished evidence-based replies to every allegation concerning the recruitment process, he said.

Lokesh also said a fresh DSC notification would be issued soon. Referring to Chandrababu Naidu's arrest in the skill development case, he said his father had to spend 53 days in jail and that the three-year legal process has concluded with a clean chit for Naidu.
