Divine Wedding Performed at Jonnawada Shrine in Nellore District
Special pujas, archana, ceremonial baths, and elaborate floral decorations preceded the grand wedding ceremony
Nellore: Devotion and festivity dominated the atmosphere at the famed Jonnawada Temple in Nellore district, as priests performed the divine wedding of Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Sri Kamakshi Tayi Ammavaru on Sunday.
Devotees thronged the temple in large numbers to witness the sacred ceremony, as it is believed to bestow family harmony, prosperity, good health, and blessings for the progeny.
Special pujas, archana, ceremonial baths, and elaborate floral decorations preceded the grand wedding ceremony. Hyderabad-based devotees Bandi Narasa Reddy and Sailajamma sponsored the event as chief patrons.
The 16th-day festival, which holds special religious significance after the conclusion of the Brahmotsavams, drew participation from women, newly married couples, and families who offered prayers and fulfilled their vows before the divine couple.
Maha Mangala Harati followed the Kalyanotsavam, with devotees receiving sacred tirtham, prasadam, and annadanam. The temple administration made elaborate arrangements, ensuring a smooth experience for pilgrims.
The celebrations continued in the evening with a dance performance that captivated devotees, followed by the traditional Pallaki Seva, during which temple authorities took out the deities in a ceremonial procession around the temple precincts. A veena recital later added to the spiritual ambience of the occasion.
The festivities concluded with the Ekanta Seva, bringing a memorable day of devotion and celebration to a close.
Those who participated in the celebrations included temple chairman Tirumuru Ashok Reddy, executive officer Arvabhumi Venkata Srinivasulu Reddy, trustees, temple staff, and hundreds of devotees.
