Vijayawada: The Vijayawada Division of the South Coast Railway on Friday organised a special ePass Registration Camp and an awareness seminar to help pensioners and family pensioners migrate to the digital railway pass system with ease.

Held at the Railway auditorium, the programme organised by the personnel department focused attention on educating retired railway employees about the HR management system (HRMS)-based ePass facility and providing on-the-spot registration support.

Launched under the guidance of senior divisional personnel officer Prem Kumar Lakavath, the initiative sought to ensure a seamless transition to the digital pass framework, particularly for senior citizens.

Officials explained the significance and benefits of the ePass system, eligibility criteria, registration process and the documents required for enrolment. Participants were also guided through HRMS account activation, login procedures and online submission of applications.

A live demonstration of the HRMS portal familiarised pensioners with the digital interface while officials addressed queries related to ePass generation and online services. Following the seminar, personnel department officials conducted a registration camp, offering one-to-one technical assistance to participants.

A total of 209 pensioners and family pensioners attended the programme, of whom 105 completed their registrations on the spot.

Officials also resolved issues related to authentication, account activation and document verification during the camp. The remaining applications are being processed and will be finalised after receiving the required approvals from the Pass Issuing Authority, railway officials said.

The initiative received an encouraging response from the pensioner community, with participants appreciating the personalised assistance provided by railway staff in adapting to the digital system.

Railway authorities said the programme marks an important step in integrating all eligible retired employees and family pensioners into the digital ePass and Privilege Ticket Order (PTO) network, ensuring faster, transparent and hassle-free access to their entitled travel facilities.
