DGP Hands Over ₹1 Crore Compensation To ASI Kondayya’s Family

Vijayawada: Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta handed over a compensation cheque of ₹1 crore to the family of late ASI D. Kondayya, who died in a road accident while on duty. The cheque was presented to Kondayya’s wife, P. Papa Rani, at the DGP’s office on Thursday.

The amount was provided under the SBI Police Salary Package, which extends financial assistance to families of police personnel who die in the line of duty.

ASI Kondayya was serving in Bapatla district and lost his life in December 2024. IGP (P&L) M. Raviprakash and SBI officials were present during the handover.

The DGP conveyed his condolences and reaffirmed the department’s commitment to supporting the families of fallen personnel.
