Kakinada:Thousands of devotees visited temples of various Goddesses across Kakinada, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema, Eluru, East Godavari, and West Godavari districts on the last Friday of Sravana Masam. The famous Puruhutika Temple, one of the Shakti Peethas at Pithapuram in Kakinada district, witnessed a large turnout of devotees.

Women performed Varalakshmi Vratha poojas at the temple. Jana Sena leaders distributed 10,000 saris to women devotees who attended the event, along with turmeric and kumkum, on behalf of Deputy Chief Minister and Pithapuram MLA K. Pawan Kalyan. A special medical camp had been set up near the temple to take care of any emergency.

Those present included Kakinada Rural MLA Pantham Venkateswara Rao (Nanaji), DCCB chairman Tummala Ramswamy, party programmes committee chairman Kalyanam Siva Srinivasa Rao, former MLA Pendem Dorababu, Five-Men Committee member Voduri Kishore, and Kapu Corporation director Challa Lakshmi. In West Godavari district, women devotees visited the Mavullamma Temple at Bhimavaram, Vasavi Temple at Penugonda, and other temples. Devotees also visited temples in Kakinada, Amalapuram, Annavaram, Eluru, Narsapuram and Razole. Hundreds of devotees had darshan of Goddess Bala Tripura Sundari Sametha Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple at Kakinada. Women devotees at some Goddess temples recited the Sri Lalitha Sahasranama.
