Devotees Contribute to Annaprasadam Scheme at Simhachalam
Temple authorities welcomed the continued support for the Annaprasadam service, reiterating the belief that donating food is among the highest forms of charity.
Visakhapatnam: Devotees at the Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Simhachalam on Monday made generous contributions to the Sri Simhadri Nath Permanent Annaprasadam Scheme, which provides free meals to thousands of pilgrims.
B. Sivashankar Raju and his wife Lakshmi from Kankipadu near Vijayawada donated ₹1 lakh. Ammu Srikanth and his wife Ammaji of Yendada contributed ₹1,01,101, with the annual Annaprasadam scheduled on June 19 in their names and gotra. Another devotee, K. Rama Rao of Simhadri Nagar, donated ₹1,00,116 in memory of his family members, K. Sanyasamma and the late Sanyasi Rao.
The donations were acknowledged at the temple’s protocol office, where bond documents were handed over to the donors. After darshan, Vedic scholars offered blessings, and temple supervising officer K. Venkateswara Rao honoured the donors with sacred cloth and prasadam.
