Tirupati: Tirumala police have registered a case against three individuals for allegedly deceiving a devotee by falsely promising VIP darshan. The accused, operating as middlemen, allegedly collected Rs 70,000 from Prakash, a devotee from Pune, under the pretence of arranging SRIVANI trust-linked darshan for his family members. However, he was instead sent for a Rs 300 special entry darshan.

Realising the fraud, Prakash approached the vigilance wing of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and subsequently filed a complaint with the police. Based on his complaint, the Tirumala One Town Police have booked a case against Chandralekha Gopal from Dyke Tours Corporation, travel agent Saravanan, and another individual named Sharath.

The accused have not yet been apprehended, and the police are conducting an investigation to trace their whereabouts. TTD authorities have urged devotees to be cautious and avoid falling prey to unauthorised agents promising special privileges at the temple.
