Demand To Allocate Funds for revival Of Adilabad CCI Unit

ADILABAD: Leaders and academicians have demanded that the state and Central governments allocate funds to revive the closed Adilabad unit of the Cement Corporation of India (CCI).

The CCI Sadhana Samiti organised a ‘Vidyarthi Yuvatha Poru Garjana’ meeting in Adilabad town on Wednesday, demanding revival of the factory.

Prof. C. Kasim, principal of the Arts College, Osmania University, former minister Jogu Ramanna and Gellu Srinivas Yadav, state president of the BRS student wing, said the factory could be revived with `250 crore each from the state and Central governments and a bank loan of `1,500 crore.

Prof. Kasim extended his support to the CCI Sadhana Samiti and people of Adilabad campaigning for revival of the factory.

The speakers said revival of the factory would provide employment to unemployed youth, boost the local economy and generate indirect employment for thousands of people.

Jogu Ramanna alleged that Adilabad MP Godam Nagesh and MLA Payal Shankar were neglecting the issue of revival of the CCI unit. He recalled that Union home minister Amit Shah had promised to revive the factory if people of Adilabad elected BJP candidates as MP and MLA in 2018.

Samiti leaders Mallesh, Narayana and Ramesh, CPM leader Bandi Dattatri, SFI state secretary Nagaraju, state leader Kiran, Sachin and others were present.
