Demand For Hindupur As District Headquarters Rising

ANANTAPUR: Amid formation of new districts in AP, Hindupur-based organisations and activists have started a campaign to make Hindupur as the headquarters of the Satya Sai district.

Leaders cutting across party lines have formed the Hindupur Jilla Sadhana Samithi. Imdad has been elected president of the samithi. All India Tippu United Front president Kallur Umar Farooq Khan says Hindupur fulfils all the requirements to be made the district headquarters of Satya Sai district.
“We will continue our agitation till the government comes forward to make Hindupur the district headquarters,” he said. He said Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna had supported this demand when he had been in opposition.
“Balakrishna must now bring influence to make Hindupur as headquarters, while retaining the title of Satya Sai district in honour of Sri Satya Saibaba,” Imdad underlined.
