DCA Conducts Raids On 32 Medical Shops In Vizag

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Drugs Control Administration (DCA) conducted surprise inspections at 32 medical shops across Visakhapatnam to prevent the misuse and illegal diversion of NRx (habit-forming and narcotic) medicines.

The inspections were carried out under the supervision of DCA deputy director Rajitha, with seven drug inspectors from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Anakapalli and Visakhapatnam districts participating in the drive.

Officials inspected medical shops in Maharanipeta, Dondaparthy, Railway New Colony, Arilova, Kommadi, Madhurawada, Adarsh Nagar, Gajuwaka, Kurmannapalem and Sriharipuram.

The teams verified purchase and sale records of NRx medicines and checked compliance with the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and related rules.

Officials said no violations relating to narcotic drugs were detected during the inspection drive.
