Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu strongly articulated AP’s development strategy and reform agenda during an interaction with the media on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum on the third day of his Davos visit.

Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s industry-friendly environment, Naidu said his government followed a ‘Speed of Doing Business’ model, ensuring quick approvals for investors.

Speaking informally to journalists at Davos, he explained the rapid changes in Andhra Pradesh’s industrial landscape and the policy initiatives of his government to attract global investments.

Describing the World Economic Forum as an exceptional platform, the CM said the annual meet not only helped attract investments but also provided an opportunity to participants to closely observe global innovations across sectors.

Naidu recalled how he had earlier leveraged the forum to brand the united Andhra Pradesh and the present-day AP, emphasising, “Strong branding leads to investments, investments drive development, and development enables effective welfare delivery to the poor.”

Presenting himself as an optimist, Naidu said he believed in setting ambitious goals and working relentlessly to achieve them. He cited Singapore’s founder prime minister Lee Kuan Yew and former Malaysian PM Mahathir Mohamad as his inspirations. Foresight, innovative thinking, integrity and hard work can make any goal achievable, he said, quoting a message he regularly shared with the youth.

The Chief Minister said Andhra Pradesh has emerged as an industry-friendly state, moving beyond “ease of doing business” to “speed of doing business” by ensuring swift approvals for new projects. Incentives, he said, are being extended through escrow accounts, while the entire process—from clearances to setting up industries—is being monitored in real time to accelerate production.

Highlighting major milestones, Naidu said the entry of Google into Visakhapatnam marked a major step in the state’s growth journey. He credited IT minister Nara Lokesh for the “proactive follow-up,” noting that discussions with Google began immediately after the government assumed office.

He said technology was transforming agriculture, with the state implementing a focused agri-tech policy. AP has also taken early strides in green energy and green ammonia production, with agreements already signed to also export green ammonia to foreign markets.

Referring to reforms in technology, telecom, power, aviation and national highway sectors, the chief minister said India’s trajectory had changed dramatically over the past three decades, opening “vast opportunities for youth.” He described Amaravati capital construction as a major opportunity, and claimed ”Amaravati is being developed as a futuristic, technology-driven green-blue city.”

Tourism development, he said, is a priority, given the state’s rich natural attractions.

Naidu also revealed plans to establish a Global Leadership Centre in Andhra Pradesh, adding that the state’s policies, ideas and swift decision-making were now being widely discussed at national and international levels.
