Konaseema Ambedkar: Police have registered a case against a contractor and a Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department official over the construction of a retaining wall allegedly obstructing irrigation water flow in Dr B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district in Andhra Pradesh.

As per reports the retaining wall was allegedly constructed on a main irrigation canal at Nedunuru Pedapalem, between Mukkamala and Nadipudi. During an inspection of irrigation canals on July 17, farmers complained to Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu that the wall was blocking the supply of irrigation water through the canal.

Taking serious note of the complaint, the minister directed Water Resources Department officials to lodge a police complaint against those responsible.

Following his directions, Kothapeta Irrigation Assistant Engineer Sai Pawan filed a complaint at Ainavilli Police Station.

Police subsequently registered a case against P. Padmaraju, a contractor associated with Sudharama Constructions, and R&B DE T Nikki Cruz under Sections 326(a), 326(b), 326(c) read with Section 3(5) of the BNS, according to the report.
