Coupling Failure Splits Goods Train Near Rayadurgam

 Anantapur: A goods train carrying raw iron ore got detached near Rayadurgam in Anantapur district on Thursday, causing a brief disruption on the route.

The incident occurred while the train, comprising 60 wagons, was en route to the Jindal industry at Toranagallu in Karnataka. Railway officials said the coupling snapped at the sixth wagon, resulting in the engine moving ahead for nearly two kilometres, leaving the remaining wagons behind.

Railway staff noticed the detachment promptly and brought the train to a halt. After nearly two hours of restoration work, the wagons were reattached to the engine.
