Cordelia Cruises Returns to Visakhapatnam
The company added Visakhapatnam to its itinerary in 2022, came back in 2025, and its continued inclusion this year highlights the port’s rising importance.
Visakhapatnam:Cordelia Cruises will return to Visakhapatnam this month as part of its expanded 2026 sailing schedule, reinforcing the city’s growing role in India’s cruise tourism sector.
The company added Visakhapatnam to its itinerary in 2022, came back in 2025, and its continued inclusion this year highlights the port’s rising importance.
“This sustained presence reflects the increasing significance of Visakhapatnam as both a cruise destination and a departure point for travellers along India’s east coast,” said Vijay Mohan, president of the AP tours and travellers association.
Operating from Chennai, Cordelia Cruises will offer itineraries ranging from two-night voyages to five-night journeys covering multiple destinations.
Under the 2026 schedule, two-night one-way cruises from Chennai to Visakhapatnam are planned for June 22 and 29, and July 6 and 13.
The three-night one-way sailings from Visakhapatnam to Chennai via Puducherry will depart on June 24 and July 1, 8 and 15. On the same dates, five-night round-trip cruises from Chennai will include stops at Visakhapatnam and Puducherry.
Officials noted that cruise holidays remain popular because they combine accommodation, meals, entertainment and recreational activities in a single package, allowing passengers to visit multiple destinations without the hassle of changing hotels or repacking.
Onboard facilities include diverse dining venues, entertainment programmes, retail outlets, lounges, a casino, wellness services and recreational options.
The vessel deployed on these routes measures 692 feet in length and has a gross tonnage of 48,563 tonnes. It features 11 decks and 796 cabins across five accommodation categories, accommodating up to 1,592 guests on double occupancy and nearly 1,950 passengers with triple and quadruple options.
Tourism stakeholders expressed optimism that Visakhapatnam’s repeated inclusion in Cordelia’s schedules will enhance the city’s visibility as a coastal tourism destination and encourage investment in cruise-related infrastructure.
