Coordinated Arrangements Planned for Kanipakam Brahmotsavams
Protocol arrangements would be coordinated by the Chittoor RDO.
NELLORE: Chittoor district collector Sumit Kumar has directed all departments to work in coordination to ensure the smooth conduct of the annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Kanipakam Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy and make necessary arrangements for devotees.
The Brahmotsavams are scheduled to be held from September 14 to October 10. At a coordination meeting at the temple EO’s office on Saturday, the collector directed officials of the revenue, police, panchayat raj, R&B, medical and health, fire and other departments to make the required arrangements.
He ordered the setting up of a 24-hour control room under the RDO, DSP and temple EO and called for round-the-clock deployment of police, doctors, medical staff, fire personnel and electricity officials. He also stressed the need for sanitation, safe drinking water, mobile toilets, uninterrupted power supply and traffic management.
Collector Sumit Kumar said arrangements should be made in accordance with Agama traditions. Protocol arrangements would be coordinated by the Chittoor RDO.
Local MLA K. Murali Mohan called for enhanced security through drones and other surveillance equipment. Ambulances, wheelchairs and emergency medical teams should be available near queue lines, he said. He also asked officials to identify potential electrical hazards and install additional transformers wherever necessary. The government was taking steps to procure 100 CCTV cameras for surveillance.
The MLA suggested that RTC operate buses between Kanipakam and Chittoor every 10 minutes during the festivities. Vehicle processions should follow traditional timings, beginning around 7 pm and returning to the temple before midnight.
SP Tushar Dudi said security arrangements would be made at the temple, Suprabhatam Mandapam, Koneru, bus stand, Kalyana Katta and other key locations. Adequate police personnel would be deployed for the Rathotsavam and Pushpa Pallaki celebrations, with a Central Command and Control Room functioning round the clock.
