Construction of Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital Starts in Amaravati

Vijayawada: Actor and Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna has launched construction of the Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (BIACH&RI) at Thullur in the capital city of Amaravati on Wednesday after conducting the traditional puja programmes.
Speaking on the occasion, Balakrishna explained that the new facility will be established on a 21-acre site. It will be a Centre of Excellence for comprehensive high-quality cancer treatment, research and patient-centric care. The hospital will integrate cutting-edge medical technology with a multidisciplinary approach.
Revealing the future plans, the Hindupur MLA explained that the facility will be developed in two phases. During the first phase, a 500-bed capacity will be created to provide a broad spectrum of oncology services with an investment of ₹750 crore, focused on infrastructure, advanced equipment and clinical excellence. It will include precision diagnostics and treatment systems, including advanced radiation and surgical technologies. With a focus on the integrated care model covering prevention, early detection, treatment and rehabilitation, the first phase of the hospital will start functioning by 2028.
