CM To Visit Konaseema, Distribute Pattadar Passbooks

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would be in the Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district on Wednesday to participate in events related to the state government’s flagship ‘Mee Bhoomi–Mee Hakku’ programme.
The visit's focus would be on strengthening land rights, distributing pattadar passbooks and addressing long-pending issues related to ground rent lands.
According to the official schedule, the CM would reach Irusumanda in Ambajipeta mandal at 10.45am and hold a meeting with elected representatives and officials. He would then proceed to Jayanthi Nagar in Machavaram village. He would interact with farmers between 10.55 and 11.35am, discussing agriculture, irrigation, land rights and land records.

Later, from 3.15pm to 4.45pm, he would participate in a cadre meeting at Budungapeta before returning to the CM camp office at 5.40pm.
The government has already distributed more than 36 lakh pattadar passbooks in 8,234 villages across the state since January. Nearly 4 lakh additional passbooks are ready for distribution in 783 villages this month. The programme aims to cover 56 lakh passbooks across 8,582 villages by next March.
A significant announcement is expected during the visit on ground rent lands in Konaseema. Though this system has been abolished in 1984, several residential properties in Amalapuram, Ambajipeta, Mummidivaram, and Ramachandrapuram continue to remain in the prohibited list under Section 22-A(1)(b) of the Registration Act due to outdated revenue classifications.
The government is considering a proposal to treat these lands on par with Gramakantham lands and remove them from the prohibited list. Such a decision would benefit 1,416 families across 1,281 survey numbers, including 32 residents in Jayanthi Nagar.
Officials noted that the state is prioritising the resolution of long-pending land disputes. Last month, lands in Guruvayipalem (Kalidindi mandal), Vaivaka (Mudinepalli mandal), and Unikili (Mandavalli mandal) in Eluru district were freed from restrictions under Section 22-A, providing relief to thousands of families.
The CM’s visit is expected to mark another step in addressing the decades-old land issues while reinforcing the government’s commitment to revenue reforms and farmer welfare.
