Hyderabad: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has responded to a BBC Telugu news report highlighting the hardships faced by vendors who sell food and other essentials along the Alipiri Mettu route to Tirumala.
Quoting the report, the Chief Minister called it a "moving story" and assured that he had directed his office to take necessary steps to support the workers and improve their welfare.
The Alipiri Mettu footpath, a crucial pilgrimage route, sees thousands of devotees trekking to the Tirumala temple daily. However, vendors who rely on selling refreshments along the way often endure harsh conditions, including steep climbs, unpredictable weather, and logistical challenges in transporting their goods. The CM’s intervention has raised hopes for better working conditions and support for these struggling workers.
