Andhra Pradesh CM N. Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to fast-track Amaravati’s ORR and ensure capital works worth ₹2,000 crore are executed monthly.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to coordinate with the Centre and fast-track the Outer Ring Road (ORR) project as part of the ongoing development of Amaravati capital city.
Reviewing the progress of capital works with officials and representatives of contracting agencies on Tuesday, Naidu called for a clear action plan to ensure that works worth `2,000 crore were executed every month.
Naidu directed officials and construction agencies to speed up all projects while maintaining high standards of quality. There should be no scope for negligence, laxity or delays, particularly in the construction of iconic buildings, he said.
The CM said the Secretariat towers and Assembly building should have an iconic character and reflect the stature and importance of Amaravati as the state capital.
Minister P. Narayana informed the CM that 41,000 workers were engaged in 152 projects in the capital region. Officials briefed him on the progress of various works and said projects worth `1,345 crore had been completed during the past month.
The CM stressed the need to impart modern skills to construction-sector personnel, on the lines of the National Academy of Construction, to meet the growing manpower requirements of large-scale capital development.
