CM Praises Srikakulam Collector For Growth, Progress
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu urged officials to continue maintaining a people-centric approach in governance
VISAKHAPATNAM: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has lauded the performance of the Srikakulam district administration, stating that the district was registering progress across sectors under the leadership of collector Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar.
Addressing the ‘Swarnandhra–Swachhandhra’ Praja Vedika meeting in Narasannapeta on Saturday, the Chief Minister reviewed the district’s performance report and congratulated officials for securing scores above the state average in several departments. He urged officials to continue maintaining a people-centric approach in governance.
Naidu said the district secured 70.29 in the annual performance index against the state average of 69.19 and Zone-1 average of 69.84, placing third in the zone and 10th in the state.
According to the latest report dated May 8, 2026, the district improved its score to 75.02, emerging first among the six districts in Zone-1 and fourth in the state.
The Chief Minister particularly appreciated the district’s performance in land resurvey works, where it achieved a score of 81.35 against the state average of 71.46. He said the latest score had further increased to 85.96, reflecting implementation of F-Line and Record of Rights surveys.
Highlighting sector-wise achievements, Naidu praised the functioning of BC Welfare Residential Schools, school education, tribal and social welfare hostels, and nutrition programmes for pregnant women, lactating mothers and children.
He said the district scored above 83 per cent in several welfare and healthcare indicators, while services in government hospitals and Anna Canteens also performed better than the state average.
At the same time, the Chief Minister expressed concern over the performance of APSRTC and the transport department.
