CM Naidu’s Singapore Visit A ‘Super Success’
CM Naidu attended 26 events in four days
Vijayawada:Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu's Singapore visit, mainly aimed at attracting investments and enhance the brand image of AP, ended on a successful note on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister participated in a total of 26 programmes there. Along with ministers Nara Lokesh, P. Narayana, T.G. Bharat and a set of senior officials, he participated in various meetings and round table discussions through four days in Singapore.
The AP entourage visited prestigious projects in Singapore and studied them with a view to enable their implementation here.
On the last day of the tour, Naidu and the ministers participated in various programmes before returning to the state. The Telugu people in Singapore bid the CM-led team a grand farewell. Local Telugus who gathered at the hotel where Naidu was staying raised slogans like ‘Jai CBN’ while bidding him farewell.
Naidu, on his part, thanked the Telugu people in Singapore for the warmth and love they showed him.
During the hectic four days, the CM met Singapore’s president Tharman Shanmugaratnam, former prime minister and current senior minister Lee Hsien Loong, as well as trade and industry minister Tan See Leng, home minister K Shanmugam and others.
The Chief Minister invited Singaporean firms to participate in the development of Amaravati. It appeared that he was successful in restoring the relations between AP and Singapore after the strains of the 2019-24 period.
Naidu explained to the Singapore government representatives that he had come to “correct the mistakes” of the past. He invited the Singapore government representatives to attend the investment conference in Visakhapatnam on November 14 and 15.
Indian high commissioner to Singapore, Shilpak Ambule, provided necessary assistance to the Chief Minister's team.
Naidu and his team met representatives of companies such as Surbana Jurong, Semb Corp, SIA Engineering, AI Singapore, Keppel Corporation, GIC, SMBC, CapitaLand Investment, Eversendai Engineering, Tom Seck, Wilmar, TVS Motors, Mandai Wildlife, Adani Ports etc and explained to them the investment opportunities in the state.
The Chief Minister sought to create awareness about the investment opportunities and the pro-industrial policies being implemented in the state. He urged the businesses there to make AP their destination for investments in India. “Our state is providing huge incentives to companies that are coming in,” he said.
The CM participated in various roundtable meetings organised on urban development, IT, AI, Fintech, maritime and ports infrastructure. He urged Singaporean industrialists to utilise the resources in AP
Naidu and his team visited the prestigious housing project Bidadari Estate, Jurong Petrochemical Island, Tuas Port and the Singapore Sports School.
The ‘Telugu diaspora from Southeast Asia’ meeting held in Singapore was a major event during the CM’s tour. At the beginning of the tour, Telugu people from Singapore and five nearby countries extended the AP team with a warm and enthusiastic welcome.
