CM Naidu To Attend International Yoga Day Celebrations in Vijayawada
Officials have been instructed to make adequate arrangements for drinking water, medical services, sanitation, power supply, traffic management and security to ensure the convenience of participants.
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will participate as the chief guest in the International Yoga Day celebrations to be held at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada on June 21.
With around 5,000 participants expected to attend the event, the district administration has intensified preparations to ensure its smooth conduct.
NTR district collector Dr G. Lakshmisha reviewed arrangements during an inspection of the venue on Saturday along with Vijayawada city police commissioner M. Rajasekhar Babu, Vijayawada municipal commissioner H.M. Dhyanachandra, joint-collector S. Ilakkiya and other senior officials.
The collector said yoga practitioners, students and members of the public would take part in the mass yoga session and directed officials of all departments to coordinate closely and complete preparations well in advance.

As a precaution against adverse weather conditions, Ambedkar Kalavedika has been identified as an alternative venue. The Collector directed officials to keep all necessary facilities ready at the backup location in the event of rain.
Dr Lakshmisha said district-level officers should work in coordination to complete all logistical arrangements and ensure the venue is fully prepared ahead of the programme.
Officials from various government departments participated in the inspection.
