Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu

Vijayawada:Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has advised his ministers to remain closely connected with the people and listen to their concerns, citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s practice of seeking feedback despite holding the country’s highest executive office.

Naidu made the remarks while discussing developments with ministers after the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday. He asked them to communicate issues discussed in the cabinet to district collectors and keep reviewing their implementation.

The Chief Minister said a Cabinet sub-committee would be constituted to examine plots that had been allotted under the Jagananna Colonies scheme. He directed that plots be provided to beneficiaries willing to construct houses in the colonies.

If beneficiaries who had received plots said they did not need them, alternative plots should be provided elsewhere. Vacant plots in the colonies should also be allotted to other eligible beneficiaries, he said.Naidu directed the Cabinet sub-committee to immediately examine the issues and submit a report. As part of the Karmayogi programme, all ministers should ensure training for employees under their respective departments, he said.

He noted that self-help groups currently had a corpus of `30,000 crore and asked ministers to work towards developing other groups along similar lines. He said leaders could remain among the people for longer if they maintained close contact with them and resolved their problems.

Referring to agriculture in Kuppam, Naidu said Israeli technology had been introduced for farming there but was later dismantled during the Rajasekhar Reddy regime. Modi had subsequently used the same Israeli technology through companies in Gujarat and achieved success in agriculture. Naidu said development depended on a leader’s vision.

Minister Nara Lokesh said Modi sought feedback on the programmes he implemented. Naidu told the ministers that Modi listened to what everyone had to say despite being PM and advised them to similarly listen to the people.

The CM also referred to media reports that four ministers had not attended the cabinet meeting. He asked ministers to explain all relevant matters to the media. He said he knew the reasons for their absence and felt it would have been better if the reasons had been explained to the media beforehand.
