VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has emphasized the need for the affluent sections of society to contribute towards eradicating poverty.

Naidu hosted a dinner to P-4 Margadarshis (Mentors) at his camp office on Friday night and shared insights on the significance of the P-4 programme that would support underprivileged communities in the state.

Speaking to a group of Margadarshis who have committed to the P-4 initiative, Naidu expressed his personal connection to the zero poverty programme. "Out of all the initiatives I have launched as chief minister, the P-4 programme is closest to my heart," he said.

Naidu detailed his vision for poverty alleviation and called upon wealthy individuals, corporate entities, and NGOs to collaborate in supporting at least 1.5 million families by August 15 this year.

He reflected on the importance of social responsibility, reminding attendees of the role that assistance plays in uplifting individuals to prominent positions in society. “Just as many luminaries have benefited from support at critical points in their lives, it is our duty to contribute back to society," he noted.
