CM announces ₹5 lakh for kin of boy killed by stray dogs

The CM condoled the boy’s death and conveyed his deep sympathy to family members.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu announced on Monday a relief of ₹5 lakh to family members of a four-year-old boy, who died after he had been attacked by stray dogs in Guntur on Sunday night.

The CM condoled the boy’s death and conveyed his deep sympathy to family members.

Following Chandrababu Naidu’s announcement, officials handed over a cheque of the relief amount to the boy’s family members.

The Chief Minister has expressed concern over the rise in stray dog population in the state. He directed officials to complete the sterilisation of dogs within four months to control their population.

Municipal administration principal secretary S. Suresh Kumar informed the CM that AP has about 3.43 lakh stray dogs. Of them, 2.03 lakh have already been sterilised.
