District collector Himanshu Shukla—DC File

NELLORE: A Class X girl who had discontinued her studies at the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Kondapuram has been readmitted following the intervention of state education minister Nara Lokesh.

Acting on Lokesh’s instructions, district collector Himanshu Shukla formed a team of revenue, police and education officials to bring the girl back from Hyderabad and facilitate her readmission. The officials also counselled her father on the importance of continuing her education.

The girl had recently appealed to the minister through a video posted on social media, expressing her desire to resume her studies while staying with her father in Hyderabad.

She thanked Lokesh for his response and promised to study well and achieve her ambitions.

The collector assured her that the government would extend the necessary support to help her pursue higher education. Lokesh appreciated collector Himanshu Shukla and SP Ajitha Vejendla for their response and efforts to facilitate the girl’s return to school.
