Civil Supplies Services Must Be Expanded: Manohar

Focusing on safeguarding public interests and improving the efficiency of civil supplies operations, the minister held discussions with senior Union government officials on key pending issues related to Andhra Pradesh.

Vijayawada:Food, civil supplies and consumer affairs minister Nadendla Manohar continued his two-day visit to New Delhi by holding a series of high-level meetings aimed at strengthening the state’s public distribution and consumer services systems.

Focusing on safeguarding public interests and improving the efficiency of civil supplies operations, the minister held discussions with senior Union government officials on key pending issues related to Andhra Pradesh.

Accompanied by department secretary K. Kannababu, the minister met Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas secretary Dr Neeraj Mittal and joint secretary Sujata Sharma. The discussions focused on improving coordination in the supply chain, resolving pending state-related issues and ensuring efficient delivery of services to consumers.

Later, Manohar paid a courtesy visit to Union minister for consumer affairs, food and public distribution Prahlad Joshi.

The leaders discussed several issues concerning Andhra Pradesh, including strengthening civil supplies management, implementation of consumer welfare programmes, transparent service delivery and enhancing Centre-State coordination.

The minister said the Andhra Pradesh government was giving top priority to protecting public interests and accelerating measures to provide quality and efficient services to consumers across the state.
