TIRUPATI: Twenty Point Programme (Swarna Andhra–Vikasit Bharat) chairman Lanka Dinakar said Chittoor district is playing a key role in shaping the Swarna Andhra vision through progress in health, education and welfare programmes.

Reviewing development indicators with collector Sumit Kumar and officials on Wednesday, he noted that 100% institutional deliveries have been achieved in the district, while IMR (6.20) and MMR (21.33) remain below the state average. Since 2024, treatments worth ₹436 crore have been provided to 2.30 lakh beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat–Dr NTR Arogya Seva, with 95% PMJAY cards already distributed.

On education, officials said initiatives like Talli Ki Vandanam and the Dokka Seethamma Mid-Day Meal scheme are helping reduce dropouts. Under PM SHRI – Mana Badi Mana Bhavishyathu, 97 of 134 works have been completed at a cost of ₹4.5 crore. Eye-screening of 57,000 students has been completed, resulting in 3,400 spectacles issued and 524 surgeries performed.

Dinakar instructed departments to prioritise drinking water supply under Jal Jeevan Mission, speed up planning under AMRUT 2.0, and accelerate PM Surya Ghar implementation. Coordinated efforts in health, nutrition, education and infrastructure, he said, will further strengthen Chittoor’s progress under the Swarna Andhra programme.
