Anantapur: Union Minister of state for home affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday said the Central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi had provided more jobs than originally promised and ensured transparent recruitment without corruption or political recommendations.

Addressing the Rozgar Mela at the Railway Prabhat Club in Guntakal, the minister distributed appointment letters to 120 candidates selected for various Central government departments.

The programme was part of the nationwide Rozgar Mela conducted simultaneously at 47 locations across the country, where more than 51,000 appointment letters were distributed.

Sanjay, along with railway officials, virtually watched the Prime Minister’s address before distributing the appointment letters.

Speaking on the occasion, the Union minister for state said the Rozgar Mela was among the largest employment initiatives launched by the Modi government to provide opportunities for unemployed youth.

He said the Prime Minister had initially announced recruitment for 10 lakh Central government jobs, but nearly 12 lakh appointments had already been completed in different phases across the country.

Sanjay said government jobs should be viewed as opportunities for public service and advised newly recruited employees to work with dedication, continuously improve their skills and maintain transparency and accountability.

He said recruitment under the present government was being conducted purely on merit without corruption, influence or recommendations.

The minister also encouraged employees to use the iGOT Karmayogi online platform for skill development and professional growth.

Referring to the “Viksit Bharat 2047” vision, he called upon youth to contribute towards making India the world’s third-largest economy.

He also highlighted the Centre’s support to Andhra Pradesh for infrastructure and development projects, including Polavaram and capital development works.

South Central Railway Guntakal Divisional Railway Manager Chandrasekhar Gupta said the Rozgar Mela reflected the Prime Minister’s vision of empowering youth through employment opportunities.

He said appointment letters were distributed to 120 candidates, including 93 Assistant Loco Pilots.
