CATA Launches Andhra Pradesh Chapter
The AP chapter will provide a platform for chefs across the state, supporting skill development, mentorship, culinary research and knowledge sharing, besides promoting Andhra cuisine nationally and internationally.
Vijayawada:The Andhra Pradesh chapter of the Chefs Association of Telangana and Andhra (CATA), aimed at promoting culinary excellence and preserving Telugu food heritage, was launched in Vijayawada on Thursday.
Swachha Andhra Corporation Limited (SACL) chairman Kommareddy Pattabhi Ram inaugurated the chapter in the presence of chefs, hospitality professionals and other dignitaries. Chef Sudhakar, director and principal of the Culinary Academy of India, and Sudha Kumar supported the launch.
Established in 2009 as Hands in Hospitality, CATA has evolved into a professional platform for chefs, culinary educators, hospitality professionals and students. It focuses on preserving traditional food practices, regional culinary stories and indigenous knowledge while promoting networking and collaboration.

CATA is headed by Chef Gowtham Karingi, president; Chef G. Yadagiri, founder and general secretary; Chef S. Nithin Prakash, treasurer; Chef K. Ramesh Yadav, joint secretary (academics); and Chef Sheshu Babu, joint secretary (hotels).
