Cabinet Approves Rs 759.79 Crore For Amaravati Sangamam At Sakhamuru

VIJAYAWADA: The state Cabinet here on Thursday approved administrative sanction for the construction of Amaravati Sangamam at Sakhamuru in Amaravati at an estimated cost of Rs 759.79 crore.

The project will comprise a state public library, an auditorium and a global institute of good governance. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu presided over the meeting.

Information minister Kolusu Parthasarathy briefed the media on the Cabinet decisions.

The Cabinet also authorised the APCRDA commissioner to undertake a Land Pooling Scheme at the request of farmers for development of an Inner Ring Road. The project includes a new broad-gauge railway line from Errupalem to Namburu through Amaravati with a 100-metre buffer and widening of grid roads from the capital city boundary to the Inner Ring Road.

The acquisition involves 6,212.50 acres through land pooling, including 974 acres from Kanteeru village in Guntur district and 5,238.50 acres in Tadikonda mandal.

The Cabinet approved the establishment of a new veterinary dispensary at Acchammakunta village in Macherla mandal of Palnadu district. Veterinary staff will be arranged for the facility, which will have an annual operating expenditure of Rs 21.13 lakh.

It also approved extending concurrence to the AP state cooperative marketing federation to mobilise funds through working capital or short-term loans for implementing the support price for Totapuri mangoes during the 2026-27 marketing season.

The Cabinet approved Rs 94 crore for AP MARKFED to directly transfer price deficiency support of Rs 10 per kg through DBT to tobacco farmers for the purchase of 94 million kg of low and off-style tobacco during the current season.

It ratified the action taken by the district collectors of Krishna, NTR, Guntur and Bapatla districts in granting administrative approval for 78 flood-damage restoration works worth Rs 624.88 lakh.

The Cabinet also approved sanction of 21 regular posts, along with recurring and non-recurring budgetary provisions, for the smooth functioning of the Additional District and Sessions Judge Court at Mangalagiri, following the intervention of education mnister Nara Lokesh.

It approved the upgradation of the ESI hospital at Rajamahendravaram from 50 to 100 beds and sanction of the required medical and paramedical staff.

The Cabinet approved the use of bituminous pavements instead of cement-concrete pavements for Type-B, C, D and E roads in Amaravati, subject to recommendations of the Central Road Research Institute in New Delhi.

It approved transfer of 18.20 acres in Survey No 824/20 at Vavil Thota village in Chittoor district to APIIC for an industrial park at Rs 28.75 lakh per acre. Another 50.56 acres in Survey No 254 and other survey numbers at Pogurupalle village in Chittoor district was approved for transfer to APIIC for an industrial park.

The Cabinet also approved transfer of 20.01 acres in Survey No 90 at Goguladinne village in Markapuram district free of cost to the revenue department for construction of a new integrated collectorate complex and other district offices.

The Cabinet exempted APGENCO’s Sileru Complex power stations from the fire precautionary fee payable to the AP Fire Services department for obtaining a fire NOC.

It approved a government guarantee of Rs 950 crore in favour of Power Finance Corporation Limited as security for repayment of the medium-term loan obtained by APTransco from PFC.

The Cabinet approved the draft Andhra Pradesh Poultry Development Policy 2025-2029 to strengthen the poultry sector by reducing production costs for farmers, promoting modern environment-controlled poultry sheds, and improving disease surveillance, prevention and biosecurity. The policy proposes financial incentives of Rs 657.18 crore under various components and will apply to all districts.

It also approved the revival, restructuring and administrative sanction of 13,252 works at an estimated cost of Rs 4,053.85 crore, with the measure expected to reduce the financial burden on the state exchequer.

The government will procure 4,760 new police vehicles through the AP state police housing corporation. The Cabinet approved a proposal to obtain a Rs 324.20 crore term loan from the SBI-SME Branch at Mangalagiri, backed by a government guarantee, with repayment through instalments or EMIs sanctioned by the government.
