BJP Leader Bharati Attacked With Knife in Polavaram Region
The driver of the car, however, managed to escape the attack. Locals who noticed the injured victims rushed them to a hospital.
Polavaram: Bharati, a state-level BJP leader, was attacked with a knife near Timmapuram in Addateegala mandal of the Polavaram region.
The assailants attacked Bharati and a person accompanying her. She sustained serious injuries to her neck, chest and left arm, and her condition is said to be critical.
The driver of the car, however, managed to escape the attack. Locals who noticed the injured victims rushed them to a hospital.
The victims are currently receiving preliminary treatment at the Addateegala Community Health Centre. Further details about the incident and the identity of the assailants are awaited.
Bharati had previously served as the state vice-president of the BJP’s Tribal Morcha and as a parliamentary constituency convener.
