BJP state president P.V.N. Madhav attended the event as chief guest and said it was significant that the Trishul installation coincided with the completion of 75 years of the reconstruction of the Somnath temple.
Visakhapatnam: The BJP on Monday organised the ‘Somnath Swabhiman Parv’ programme at the newly installed Trishul atop Kailasagiri under the leadership of Visakhapatnam district BJP president Parushuram Raju.
BJP state president P.V.N. Madhav attended the event as chief guest and said it was significant that the Trishul installation coincided with the completion of 75 years of the reconstruction of the Somnath temple.
Addressing the gathering, Madhav said Kailasagiri, part of the Simhachalam Hill region, had emerged as a major spiritual centre with the Trishul installation. He congratulated the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) for establishing the structure.
Recalling history, Madhav said the reconstruction of the Somnath Temple was carried out under the leadership of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and inaugurated by India’s first President Rajendra Prasad after centuries of invasions and destruction.
He said the Centre under Narendra Modi was developing Jyotirlinga shrines across the country and conducting “Swabhiman Parv” and “Swabhiman Jagaran” programmes nationwide.
Madhav also said Andhra Pradesh was witnessing “triple engine” governance and asserted that terrorism was being dealt with firmly under the leadership of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.
Several BJP leaders, party workers and devotees participated in the programme.
