Kakinada: Candidates of the BJP are pitted against fellow party members in the present ZPTC polls, leading to the filing complaints to the election officers.

Some of the BJP candidates are facing candidates of the other alliance parties.

Civil supplies corporation director Tummala Padmaja filed her nomination for Peddapuram ZPTC.

Another BJP leader K Devi also filed nomination for the same seat.

Following this, Devi raised an objection for Padmaja’s nomination before the returning officer.

She said Tummala Padmaja is having a profitable post and should not contest the elections without resigning the post.

Meanwhile, Padmaja contacted the party’s state leadership.

Based on instructions from there, she withdrew her nomination on Tuesday.

Padmaja expressed concern over the state of affairs in the party.

She told Deccan Chronicle that when the party conducted an IVRS survey, she secured 50 per cent of support from the people.

Yet, her own party's aspirants raised objections.

She alleged that some of the alliance party leaders are misleading BJP leaders and putting up candidates against her as they were envious of her growing popularity and image among the people.

Meanwhile, the ZPTC seat for Peddapuram was allocated to Jana Sena.

At Eleswaram, two BJP candidates -- Pyla Bose and Neerukonda Satyanarayana -- filed their nominations on behalf of the BJP.

Meanwhile, some leaders from the Telugu Desam, Jana Sena and BJP strongly opposed his candidature as Bose had joined the BJP from Telugu Desam.

Bose expressed confidence about getting a ticket from BJP.

But Neerukonda Satyanarayana also is making efforts to secure the B Form to contest the elections.

In Kakinada, many BJP leaders are aspiring for corporator tickets.

But due to internal politics, some leaders are making efforts to thwart the chances of some aspirants.

The internal conflicts are hurting the BJP’s image though the party has a vote bank.
