Bapatla Police Return 373 Recovered Mobiles Worth Rs 4.6 Lakh

 Vijayawada: Bapatla district police have handed over 373 recovered mobile phones, valued at approximately Rs 74.6 lakh, to their rightful owners within a span of three months.

District superintendent of police B. Umamaheswar announced the details at a press conference held on Monday. He said the recoveries were made by special police teams using advanced mobile tracking technology.

As part of a focused drive, 258 mobile phones were traced within just 15 days. Since the formation of the district, police have recovered 3,301 mobile phones worth Rs 7.17 crore from within the state as well as from other states.

The SP advised citizens to report lost mobile phones immediately at the nearest police station with details such as the IMEI number and purchase bill, or to register complaints on the Central government’s CEIR portal at www.ceir.gov.in

He also urged victims to block their SIM cards, change bank-linked mobile numbers, and obtain replacement SIMs to prevent misuse.
