APCRDA Clears Rs 1,205-Cr Quantum Valley Towers, Ropeway Projects for Amaravati
Narayana said the government had revived the HappyNest housing project and that AP RERA had agreed to waive the renewal fee payable for the project.
Vijayawada:The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) on Tuesday approved a series of infrastructure and urban development projects for Amaravati, including the construction of two Quantum Valley towers at a cost of Rs 1,205 crore, a city ropeway network under the PPP model, a 20-MW data centre and expansion of 5G connectivity.
Announcing the decisions taken at the 64th APCRDA meeting, urban development minister P. Narayana said the authority approved the allotment of 2,340 acres at Mothadaka village for the proposed Inner Ring Road and railway line. It also sanctioned Rs 122 crore for bringing 244.39 acres of the endowments department inam lands in Palnadu under the land pooling scheme.
The authority ratified borrowings to pay nearly Rs 300 crore in annuity to farmers who pooled their lands for the capital city project. It also approved tenders for establishing a 20-mw data centre and installation of 5G towers at 20 locations across Amaravati.
The APCRDA cleared the proposed ropeway connecting the railway station, bus stand, Kanaka Durga temple, Punnami Ghat, Bhavani Island and the Venkateswara Swamy temple. It also approved awarding the contract to L&T for construction of the two 18-storey Quantum Valley towers.

The authority also decided to appoint a consultant to assess future bridge requirements across the Krishna River to support the proposed Amaravati-Vijayawada-Guntur mega city, projected to have a population of one crore.
It approved the formation of a committee to ensure that government buildings reflect Andhra Pradesh's cultural heritage.
The minister said the Seed Axis Road was nearing completion and, subject to favourable weather conditions, the chief minister is expected to visit Amaravati on August 13 to inspect the works and formally hand over the completed MLA and MLC towers to the general administration department.
