APCPDCL Told To Ensure Uninterrupted Power, Cut Distribution Losses

Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Corporation Limited (APCPDCL) chairman and managing director P. Pulla Reddy has directed officials to ensure quality and uninterrupted power supply by strengthening field supervision, preventive maintenance and prompt grievance redressal.
Reviewing distribution operations with CGMs, GMs, SEs, EEs and other senior officials at Vidyut Nilayam here on Saturday, Mr Pulla Reddy reviewed supply reliability, revenue collection, line-loss reduction, power theft prevention, electrical safety, maintenance of lines and transformers, monsoon preparedness, feeder and substation performance and peak-demand management.
He directed officials to identify frequently tripping feeders, overloaded transformers and vulnerable lines and take advance corrective measures. High-load areas should be addressed through load balancing, capacity augmentation and timely transformer maintenance, he said.
Pulla Reddy reviewed the PM Surya Ghar–Muft Bijli Yojana, RDSS, substation construction and feeder-strengthening works, stressing timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
He said consumers could now apply for new electricity connections through APCPDCL’s 1912 platform, website or mobile app without visiting MeeSeva centres. Awareness campaigns would be taken up across the NTR Circle.
Pulla Reddy also reviewed preparedness for weather-related disruptions amid the El Nino impact and stressed electrical safety and public awareness on fallen wires, wet equipment and waterlogged electrical infrastructure.
He ordered better revenue collection, recovery of dues, feeder-level loss analysis and strict action against power theft. Agricultural feeders must be monitored continuously to ensure reliable supply to farmers. Complaints, he said, must be effectively resolved with accountability at every level.
