VIJAYAWADA: In a major push towards energy conservation and consumer savings, Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Company Limited (APCPDCL) has entered into an agreement with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture under the Union ministry of power, to promote affordable energy-efficient appliances across the state.

The partnership aims to make star-rated appliances such as LED bulbs, BLDC fans, induction cooktops and energy-efficient air conditioners easily accessible through EESL Mart using APCPDCL’s consumer outreach network.
The agreement comes shortly after APCPDCL secured an overall ‘A’ Grade in the Consumer Service Rating of Discoms (CSRD) for 2024-25 issued by the ministry of power, reflecting improved consumer services, operational efficiency and financial performance.
Under the collaboration, APCPDCL will promote EESL products through its website, QR codes, SMS alerts, WhatsApp campaigns and electricity bill messaging systems. Consumers can purchase quality-assured, warranty-backed appliances online with doorstep delivery.
Officials said the initiative is expected to help households reduce electricity consumption by 25 to 35 per cent, leading to significant savings in monthly power bills while supporting clean energy goals.
APCPDCL CMD P. Pulla Reddy said the utility earned national recognition under the guidance of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar and Special Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand.
EESL CEO Akhilesh Kumar Dixit congratulated APCPDCL on securing the ‘A’ Grade ranking and appreciated its consumer-centric initiatives.
