Vijayawada:The Andhra Pradesh government would streamline the practice of medicine under AYUSH (ayurveda, yoga, naturopathy, unani, siddha and homeopathy) and impose curbs on fake treatment.

Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav said here on Monday that an amendment was carried out to AP Allopathic private medical care establishment (registration and regulation) act, 2022 in the legislature.

He noted that once the governor gave his nod, the new guidelines would come into force. Three committees including technical, experts and stakeholders would study and submit a report to formulate the modalities.

This would be similar to the control on the hospitals practising allopathic treatment.

As per the new guidelines, clinics and hospitals must get registration from the Ayush department. Only those who are academically qualified can do the practice.
