AP to Sell Rice at Affordable Price at Rythu Bazars From Aug. 1

The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to sell rice at subsidised rates through 130 Rythu Bazars and special counters set up by rice millers across the state from August 1, providing relief to consumers amid rising market prices.

Under the initiative, BPT super fine rice will be sold at ₹52 per kg, while Grade-I raw rice will be available at ₹50 per kg, significantly lower than prevailing market rates.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan welcomed the decision, saying

it reflects the alliance government's commitment to reducing the financial

burden on common people. He appreciated Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla

Manohar for taking the initiative to make quality rice available at affordable

prices through the Civil Supplies Department.

Pawan Kalyan said the government had held discussions with rice

millers and reviewed prevailing open market prices before arriving at the

revised rates. The move, he said, aims to ensure that essential food grains

remain within the reach of middle- and low-income families.

The Deputy Chief Minister expressed confidence that the scheme

would provide much-needed relief to households facing increasing food expenses

and reaffirmed the alliance government's commitment to implementing

welfare-oriented measures that directly benefit the public. Rice will be made

available through designated Rythu Bazars and authorised counters across the

state beginning August 1.
