Vijayawada:The Andhra Pradesh government would issue a District Selection Committee notification in October as part of its job calendar to take up recruitment of teachers in government schools.
This has enthused lakhs of educated unemployed youths in the state.
Addressing the media here on Thursday, education secretary Kona Sasidhar along with special chief secretary for sports Ajay Jain, said that the DSC exam could be held in December.
Referring to the allegations of irregularities in the recruitment process through DSC-2025, the education secretary noted that nearly 6,100 notified teacher posts were not filled up in 2024.
“There were two reasons. Clarity was needed for implementation of horizontal reservation as per directions from both the supreme court and the high court. There was also a need to conduct the TET and DSC in coordination without causing confusion to the students,” he said.
“We were made to handle the two issues very carefully. Hence, there was some delay in filling up the posts.”
Sasidhar ruled out any leakage of paper in the DSC exam. “The the entire recruitment process was taken up in digital mode and only official access to the system was given in addition to changing passwords regularly.”
He said the merit list was prepared as per norms and noted that a three stage grievance mechanism was set up at district, state and commissioner level and the grievances were examined impartially.
With regard to recruitment through sports quota, special chief secretary for sports Ajay Jain stated that the selection was done as per norms of the sports quota.
“Taking part or winning the inter-collegiate competitions is not considered as a criterion for eligibility for recruitment.”
Sasidhar said priority was given for achievements at the international, national and south zone inter-university competitions. The details of 382 persons who were selected under sports quota are available online
