AP To Come Up With New Film Policy Soon: Kandula
The minister said they would present Nandi awards this year for sure and would discuss on the issue further to see that it would benefit the film industry and sought suggestions from the film producers.
Vijayawada: Minister for tourism and culture Kandula Durgesh has assured that a comprehensive new film policy for Andhra Pradesh will be formulated soon.
A delegation of film producers called on the minister at the Secretariat here on Monday and submitted a representation pertaining to a series of issues the Telugu film industry was facing and sought intervention of the minister to arrange a meeting with the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan to discuss issues affecting the film industry and development of 24 crafts. The delegation discussed on shooting of the films, release of new films, new film policy and other issues.
Later, the minister assured to arrange the meeting with the Chief Minister and Deputy CM either in the first or second week of September and advised the delegation to come up with proposals on the kind of support they were expecting from the AP government for promotion of Telugu film industry in the state.
The minister told mediapersons that the delegation was appreciating the cooperation and support being extended by their government for promotion and development of Telugu film industry and said that they had discussed elaborately on issues of construction of film studios, dubbing theatres and re-recording theatres and other amenities in the state and vowed to extend all support from the government if the film industry would come forward to develop such facilities.
